Transformation specialist and comms expert

Candy is a Partner at April Strategy and brings more than 20 years' experience in strategy, M&A, turnaround and transformation. She specialises in structuring and orchestrating mission-critical transformation programmes that involve a wide range of stakeholders - not just senior executives but also frontline staff, customers and investors.

 

Candy graduated with a bachelor degree in business administration at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and was named on the College Dean’s list which recognises outstanding students. Her first job was with the Hong Kong Government, working in private office and in health and welfare, where she was involved in legislation and the response to the avian flu crisis. She moved to the UK after finishing her MBA at INSEAD, Fontainebleau.

Her consulting career has included strategy consultant at L.E.K,  Executive Vice President Strategy and Corporate Development of TT Electronics, and independent adviser. She has worked extensively with private equity investors and their portfolio in both pre-deal due diligence and post-deal business transformation. She is also founder of the online marketplace Melted Inside, a platform dedicated to artisan food and drink.

 

Candy joined the April Strategy team in 2023, seeing demand from many companies needing to make step change to adapt to the post-Covid way of working and the rising expectations regarding sustainability and EDI.

 

Outside work, Candy is active in animal welfare and sustainability; she chairs the trustees' committee of the RSPCA's London East branch and is involved in the United Nation's Race To Zero campaign through Community Impact Challenge, an INSEAD-alumni led organisation. She lives in East Sussex with her husband and two chocolate labradors and loves cooking, travelling and horse riding.
