Strategic adviser, change architect and innovation catalyst
Tim is a Managing Partner at April Strategy, having originally founded the firm in 2004.
After graduating with a master’s degree in engineering and management, Tim spent the first decade of his professional career in international brand management and commercial marketing with Unilever in the UK and France. He then spent two years launching the Quorn brand in Europe before moving to strategic marketing consultancy New Solutions. Over the following decade, Tim was a key member of the director team behind successful growth and sale to Omnicom in 2001.

After a short pause for breath, Tim founded April Strategy, determined to address the shortcomings of conventional management consultancy in regard to the actionability and durability of their recommendations. From the outset, April focused on not just strategy, but effective strategy implementation.
Over the years, Tim has become an accomplished top-table facilitator, working with boards and executive teams in the formulation of strategy and the steering of strategy implementation. He particularly enjoys the rigorous, combative, creative and energising process of getting a senior team aligned around a strategic plan.
Tim is also a course leader with the Institute of Directors, with a mission to improve the quality of company directors, and teaches regularly on the topic of strategy.
Tim lives in the Chiltern Hills to the west of London with his family. In his spare time, he enjoys climbing mountains (on foot and by bike) and racketball, and can also be found playing guitar in a local dad-rock beat combo. In all of these extra-curricular activities, he is distinguished more by enthusiastic participation than by talent.
